A house for the architect and family on a site within the flood plain of the River Thames. The single storey prefabricated timber construction was supported on screw pile foundation which raised the floor level above the anticipated 100 year flood level. The south facing facade of sliding patio doors in a continuous line, was shaded by an external timber pergola. The external facade covered in waney edge elm boarding 50mm thick over an insulated timber frame where not glazed.
