A simple building with optimum flexibility, a place where thought can take its place in parallel with action. The form is seen against the rise of the artificial landscape of the perimeter mounding. The exterior appearance conveys lightness, set in an extensive landscape, to both provide for the occupants and visitors a garden of quiet contemplation. An environment that supports rather than competes with the ideas and actions of the inhabitants.
The plan arrangement allows for completely flexible arrangement of space on both floors, with grouped and isolated tenant space as required. The servicing undercroft is unique to this building allowing for specialist provision, such as communications, high voltage power, air conditioning, compressed gases, etc. to be made at any point within the building.
The external envelope of the building, is both simple and complex, it both shades the interior and admits daylight on all sides, the internal courtyards provide for a variety of spatial and social experiences not usual in conventional office building. They also provide fresh air for natural ventilation of all the internal spaces whether private or communal.
