Glade is to be located at the entrance to the Belvedere development at the junction of Hills Road and Cherry Hinton Road in Cambridge. The work has a strong and visible presence at the junction with Hills Road continuing into the centre of the site creating a focus within the overall development. The proposed materials are recycled glass fragments cast in various types of resin in the form of a stepped curvilinear pyramid. The installation will be formed in poured in situ, and precast resin bound recycled glass fragments made into 1m x 1m panels. The materials proposed are permanent, and their installation requires only normal building and landscaping methods for its realisation.
